Sigh On Purpose
(Let your body exhale.)
You already do it when you're overwhelmed.
You sigh when the weight lifts.
You sigh when you finally stop holding it all together.
But what if sighing wasnโt just a reaction โ what if it was a practice?
Hereโs the tip:
Take a double inhale through your nose โ one big breath, followed by a top-up breath.
Then exhale slowly through your mouth like a sigh.
Repeat 3 times.
Thatโs it.
This is called a physiological sigh โ and itโs one of the fastest ways to calm your nervous system.
Why it matters:
Lowers stress hormones (like cortisol)
Relaxes the diaphragm and fascia
Improves COโ balance and oxygen uptake
Activates your parasympathetic nervous system
Creates internal safety and calm
The body knows how to regulate โ if you let it.
Try it today:
Pause for 60 seconds.
Sigh with intention.
Let your shoulders drop. Let your face soften.
Let yourself feel the exhale.
