Our philosophy at Qi Movements is simple: Move well. Live well.™
Moving well means being pain free and able to enjoy the activities that you love. Our comprehensive assessment takes into account any injuries, pain, or muscular imbalances you might have. Then, we focus on proper exercise progressions that continually develop your functional movement patterns. Our goal is to optimize movement and minimize compensation before adding intense fitness. Once you’ve mastered the functional movement patterns, we’ll shift our focus to improving your performance through strength training and conditioning.
Living well means looking beyond your ability to move. We believe true wellness starts with your lifestyle. We pay careful attention to your nutrition, hydration, sleep, stress management, mindset, and recovery. We’ll help you assess your current lifestyle habits and make incremental, sustainable changes through habit tracking. Our goal is to support you in developing and maintaining positive lifestyle habits.
We firmly believe that movement influences lifestyle and vice versa. We recognize that addressing both of these areas is critical for achieving and maintaining a healthy life. That’s why we take a holistic approach to training. Through positive, collaborative one-on-one relationships, we’ll help you set and achieve your performance and wellness goals.

Brien’s Bio
I’m the Founder of Qi Movements, a personal training and wellness studio dedicated to helping adults over 45 restore strength, mobility, and vitality — so they can move through life with confidence, not limitation.
After years in the fitness industry, I saw a consistent disconnect: people were staying active and working hard, yet living with pain, fatigue, and declining resilience. The issue wasn’t motivation — it was approach.
Qi Movements is built on intelligent strength training. Our work prioritizes movement quality, breathing, stability, and long-term durability. We integrate functional strength training, NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT), and holistic wellness principles to help clients rebuild trust in their bodies and create strength that actually carries over into daily life.
We work primarily with adults navigating midlife changes, chronic pain, recurring injuries, or the realization that “doing more” isn’t the answer anymore.
Beyond coaching, I’m deeply invested in education and community. I host the Qi Movements Podcast, write through the Live Well Project, and collaborate closely with healthcare practitioners to support clients from multiple angles.
My philosophy is simple:

Our 3400-square-foot facility was built with strength, mobility, and performance in mind. Our training area has a variety of cardiovascular equipment and free weights, plus open turf. It’s quiet, intimate, and open so that we can focus all of our attention on you. We have private treatment rooms for Fascial Stretch Therapy, as well as individual washrooms and showers.
We are proud partners of iMove Physiotherapy and have dedicated a portion of our space to their satellite clinic. iMove specializes in NeuroKinetic Therapy, and we work in close collaboration with the iMove team.
